BS6-compliant vehicles are more expensive than their BS4 counterparts, but some have received a crazy price hike! But which one takes the top spot?

With the April 1 deadline looming, bike makers are going all out launching BS6 products. Some manufacturers like Vespa, Aprilia, KTM and Suzuki have completely updated their lineup. But the price increment between the BS4 models and the BS6 models has been very interesting. The Hero Glamour 125 BS6 has received a price hike of just Rs 1,450, the lowest we have seen. But which one is on the other side of the spectrum? Scroll down for the list of two-wheelers that have received the highest price increment. Spoiler alert: you won’t believe which one has taken the first place.

5: KTM 200 Duke (Rs 1.73 lakh):

KTM has updated its entire model lineup and while most of the motorcycles in the orange army get a price hike of around Rs 3,000 to Rs 6,000, the 200 Duke is now around Rs 10,500 more expensive than before. Apart from an updated BS6-compliant motor, you get an all-new design and an all-new frame. Considering that the 200 Duke didn’t receive any update since its launch, the price increment is quite fair. But it still is not THE bike which takes the top spot in our list.

4: Royal Enfield Classic 350 (Rs 1.65 lakh):

We were expecting Royal Enfield to launch an all-new Classic 350 this year, but what we got was a slightly updated motorcycle. When we say slightly, we mean you’ll need a magnifying glass to spot the changes. And even then, it is Rs 12,000 more expensive than before!

3: TVS Apache RR310 (Rs 2.40 lakh):

This is what a proper update looks like. TVS just didn’t make the RR310 BS6-compliant, instead, it made a whole lot of changes to make the RR310 a better motorcycle in every aspect! From new tyres to segment-first features like rider modes and a full colour TFT display, the RR310’s Rs 12,000 price hike is quite justifiable.

2: Aprilia SR 150 Carbon Edition (Rs 1.06 lakh):

Coming in at second place is Aprilia India’s flagship scooter, the SR150 Carbon Edition, which has received a price hike of Rs 19,442! No, that’s not a typo. Generally, the next thought that could come to your mind is that “It must have received some significant updates.” Well, you are wrong. Because on the outside there’s no change whatsoever; no new paint options, no new decals. And except for the engine, the hardware is similar to the previous model.

1: Aprilia SR 125 CBS (Rs 93,496):

Surprise? Well, even we were when we saw the price list of the BS6 Aprilias. But we were shocked even more when we saw that the SR125 CBS now costs Rs 93,46. That’s Rs 21,012 more than the BS4 model! Just like the other BS6 Vespas and Aprilias, this one also remains similar to its predecessor. So no external changes and, barring the engine, the underpinnings also remain the same.
