As expected, 2016 Auto Expo is witnessing the display of brightest of Indian two-wheelers, which are likely to hit roads by the end of this year. Starting from the adventure tourer and performance motorcycles to the pocket-friendly two-wheelers, the customers are loaded with a lot of options for their next two-wheeler purchase. So, if you are looking to buy a bike in future just take a look at the models displayed below.
1. Honda NAVi
Honda NAVi had already created a buzz even before its launch and people were eager to see, what new this upcoming model from Honda has to offer which the company promised earlier. This mini bike was launched at Rs. 39,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Powering the NAVi is 110cc, single cylinder, four-stroke, an air-cooled mill that can be seen in Activa 110. It produces the maximum power of 7.8bhp and 8.96Nm of peak torque. Honda claims that NAVi has the ability to reach the top speed of 81kmph while HET technology brings better fuel efficiency. The bookings for this mini bike are open and the delivery will start in April this year.
2. Hero Splendor 110 iSmart
It is well-known fact that Hero is a champion when it comes to the commuter segment. This time, around the company has taken its legendary to motorcycle, the Splendor to a step ahead and has unveiled the Splendor 110 iSmart. Hero Splendor iSmart is the first motorcycle from Hero fleet, which is completely designed and built in-house by Hero.
This 110cc motorcycle is powered by 110cc, 4-stroke, an air-cooled powertrain that is mated to a 4-speed transmission. As per the company claims, the bike is likely to produce 9 percent more power and 12 percent of more torque than the current generations splendor. The new Hero Splendor 110 iSmart might hit the road later this year.
3. UM Renegade Series
UM motorcycles have finally launched their three products namely - the Renegade Sport S at Rs. 1.49 Lac, Classic at 1.69 lac and Commando at Rs. 1.59 lac. All the motorcycles get their power from the same 279cc, single cylinder engine that produces around 25bhp and 22Nm.
Earlier, the US motorcycle maker had entered a partnership with Lohia motors with 50-50 partnership to bring affordable cruisers and motorcycles in the Indian market. UM already has its presence in South East Asian markets and planning to make India an export hub.
4. Yamaha MT-09
This time around, Yamaha brought its powerful naked motorcycle, the MT-09 with the price tag of Rs. 10.2 Lac (ex-showroom, Delhi). It will come as a completely built unit.
This naked and powerful machine is powered by a new high torque, 3-cylinder 847cc engine that pumps out 113bhp of power and 87Nm of torque. Now it is going to be interesting to see how it will perform in the Indian market as it will be having tough competition from the Kawasaki Z800 and the Triumph Street Triple.
5. Triumph Street Twin
Triumph Street Twin is the latest addition in the classic Bonneville series replacing the standard Bonneville. The Street Twin boasts traditional classic design at the same time it also looks contemporary as well. It has been priced amazingly and costs Rs. 6.9 lac (ex-showroom, Delhi).
It gets its power from all new 900cc parallel twin 4-stroke engine that is tuned to return impressive 80Nm of torque at just 32,00rpm. The bike gets ride-by-wire, throttle, different riding modes, ABS, traction control and a slip-assist clutch as standard features.
6. Benelli TRK 502
Italian motorcycle maker, Benelli finally has finally unveiled its 500cc adventure tourer, the TRK 502. The bike wins heart when it comes to looks. It is equipped with a new 500cc parallel twin engine that produces around 47bhp of power and 45Nm of torque. It comes with 20 litres fuel tank for extended range during long journeys.
7. Honda Africa Twin
The ongoing Auto Expo has witnessed the unveiling of Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin. This legendary machine is based on Honda RX750 which won the Dakar Rally four times in the 1980s. The last Africa Twin was phased out in 2003.
This giant machine is powered by 998cc parallel twin engine that makes 94bhp of power and 98Nm of torque. The new African Twin comes with a 6-speed dual clutch automatic transmission, but in India, we might get the 6-speed manual transmission.
