Triumph Launching Bonneville Bobber On March 29

The Bonneville Bobber is a classic retro-styled motorcycle which is reminiscent of the bobber bikes that were famous in the mid-nineties

Triumph Motorcycles first unveiled the Bonneville Bobber internationally at the EICMA motorcycle show in Italy last year, and it will be launched in the country on March 29, 2017. Dealerships have started accepting bookings for the Bonneville Bobber from the last couple of weeks at a booking amount of Rs 2 lakh. Once launched, the bikes will be delivered to prospective customers within 10 days after the full payment is done.

The Triumph Bonneville Bobber is a factory-customized Bonneville which is more or less a stripped-down Bonneville T120 with retro design elements and paneling to carry the old school look. Distinctive design elements like the floating aluminium single seat pan, twin slash-cut peashooter exhausts and the hardtail look gives it an elegant character. The motorcycle is constructed around a new chassis and suspension geometry and also gets new bubble tank, custom battery box and an adjustable riding position. It gets over 150 additional accessories available internationally and we can expect Triumph to offer the same in the Indian market. Though the motorcycle is a retro classic design, it gets all the bells and whistles Triumph offers on their modern-day motorcycles.

The motorcycle is powered by the Bonneville T120's 1200cc parallel-twin which produces 77PS @ 6100 rpm and 106Nm of torque @ 4000 rpm. It gets two riding modes - road and rain; switchable traction control and a torque-assist clutch. The Bonneville Bobber gets KYB 41mm telescopic fork suspension with 90mm travel at the front and a KYB monoshock unit with 76.9mm of travel at the rear. The Bobber gets 21-inch front and 16-inch rear retro-looking Avon Cobra tyres which look the part while offering the performance expected from today's bikes. Braking is handled by a single 310mm disc rotor with Nissin twin-piston floating calipers at the front and a 255mm disc rotor with a Nissin single piston caliper at the rear. ABS is offered as standard.

We expect the Bobber to be priced around Rs 10 lakh on-road. The motorcycle will be placed between the Triumph Bonneville T120 and Thruxton R.
