A good news for Suzuki fans has just come in that now naked Gixxers can be converted into a muscular machine. As some authorized service centers have started converting machine the naked Gixxer into its younger sibling the SF. For this modification, a customer has to contact the service center and if approved, the required fairing is fitted on the machine at a cost anywhere between Rs. 10-15,000.
The service is great for old customers who had purchased Suzuki Gixxer before the launch of Suzuki Gixxer SF and also those who in the past opted for the naked machine and now want to upgrade to a Hayabusa inspired look. For existing customers, the showrooms don’t encourage the change but some of them comply with the request and get the job done. A service advisor of a Suzuki dealership in Bangalore is quoted by an online portal saying, the conversion can be done without voiding the motorcycle’s powertrain warranty. But the process of insurance claims can be a bit complicated later on.
The advisor further added that, if the naked Gixxer is of Metallic Triton Blue, Peal Mirage White or Glass Sparkle Black colors, installing SF’s fairing would cost between Rs. 10-13,000 as it is easily available in these particular colors. But if the Gixxer is of a different color then the cost might increase to Rs.15,000. He confirmed that after the fitting of fairing which includes fastening fairing mounts on the fuel tank and Chassis, the naked bike will look exactly like the muscular Gixxer SF. The process takes 2 days to convert the machine, as it depends on the availability of spare parts.
The cost is a bit on the higher side for a 150cc motorcycle, but it will not be any hurdle for the zealous fans of Suzuki. Also, with a completely fairing done, you’ll get a Hayabusa inspired machine to ride on. What else do you need for a perfect ride through the town?
