TVS achieves 35 percent sales growth last month

TVS Motor Co. Ltd., a Chennai based leading two-wheeler manufacturer, has achieved 35 percent growth in two-wheeler sales in the month of July 2010. The company has sold total two-wheeler of 163,106 units compare with the 120,944 units in July 2009, largely driven growth by more exports. In the first four months of this fiscal, TVS sold 619,147 units from the 468,085 units sold in the last fiscal 2009-10, registered growth of 32 percent.
The company sold 61,051 motorcycles during the month, against 42,998 in the corresponding period of the last year, a growth of about 42 percent, besides the sales of scooter has also increased by 46 percent to 40,357 units. TVS Motors export market sales went up by 54 percent from 13,000 units in July 2009 to 20,000 units of two-wheelers in July 2010. The company is planning to launch a higher version of its flagship model, TVS Apache soon in India. It is also ready to introduce new TVS Streak hybrid and TVS Neo.
