The New System Comes In Before Mandatory CBS Regulations That Will Be In Effect From April 2018
With the Government on the path to make ABS mandatory for bikes above 125cc and combined braking system (CBS) mandatory for bikes below this bracket by April 2018, manufacturers will need to gear up to meet this requirement.
Among the first ones to do so is TVS Motors. The Sync Brake System, simply put, distributes brake force across the front and rear wheel when you apply the rear brake. This has many benefits. The brake force is distributed in a set percentage across the front and rear wheels where the force to the front brake is more, resulting in superior braking. TVS claims that the SBS system uses a single brake control mechanism actuated via the rear brake lever. This system multiplies brake force to the wheel so that brake lever effort is more, thereby increasing braking efficiency.
The system will be beneficial to riders who rely mainly on the rear brake as a combined braking system, and will be more efficient and safer during panic braking situations. TVS' SBS braking system will come standard in all variants of the Wego and Jupiter. This system will be available on disc brake-equipped variants as well.
