TVS motors is one of the major two-wheeler manufacturers in India. Around 36% sales of the company comes through their automatic scooter segment. Automatic scooters not only helped the TVS, but many other leading companies to raise their sales in market like Hero MotoCorp and HMSI. To stay ahead in the competition, TVS is going to launch a new automatic scooter on 16th September.
In the previous days, Automatic scooters were the choice of only female riders, but now male riders are also finding them worth. The reason are more convenience, comfort, features and a fatigue free ride, offered by the automatic scooters. And now auto makers are also introducing some powerful male specific and unisex designs in the segment to fetch the male riders towards them. Hero Maestro, Honda Aviator and Activa are some perfect examples of these type of scooters.
TVS has a good range of automatic scooters, but their appeal is more feminine. TVS tried to fascinate male riders by a unisex scooter Wego, which again succeeded among the female population. We know that the TVS is planing for a macho 125cc scooter to compete with the new powerful scooters recently launched by other companies. However, it will take time, for now, to fulfill the segment need, they are introducing this new male specific scooter called the 'Jupiter' with elegant looks.
The Jupiter will share the 110cc CVTi engine with Wego, which churns out a power of 8bhp and a peak torque of 8Nm in the scooter. The scooter also shares some features of the Wego like- large alloy wheels ( largest in the segment), telescopic suspensions, convenient external fuel fill, body balance technology, countered seat and optional front disk brake.
The TVS scooter will come with a perfectly designed, durable all metal body. We have some spy pics of the test scooter, which tells obout some other features of it. Its aerodynamically designed front apron looks elegant, having two sharp edge blinkers on it. Tail lamp and rear blinkers are merged well at the rear in a very stylish manner.
One thing which is found very distinct on this from the other scooters is its tail lamp mounted fuel cap for easy refueling. It has shutter type key-lock for better security of the scooter. It is expected to be available in 6 different colour options.
