TVS Jupiter has been one of the most popular products in the company’s scooter portfolio that has managed to give some tough competition to the segment ruler Honda Activa right since its inception. To spice up the competition even more, the Hosur based manufacturer will be launching its refreshed variant next month with a couple of impressive upgrades. While the mechanicals remain the same, the new version will feature a 220mm disc brake at the front and new decals along with an all-new colour scheme.
TVS Jupiter is a trendy midweight scooter that comes powered by a 109.7cc, four-stroke, air-cooled engine that comes mated to a CVT automatic transmission setup. The engine churns out a net power of 7.88bhp at 7,500rpm with a maximum torque of 8Nm at 5,500rpm. The scooter gets grippy 90/90-12 tyres at both ends and employs telescopic forks up front with hydraulic gas-filled shock absorbers at the rear. As for convenience, the two-wheeler has been equipped with several elements such as mobile charging point, a patented easy centre stand, external fuel fill and twin pilot lamps.
As per reports, TVS Motor company has registered the name for the new scooter as Jupiter ZX and is all set for its roll out. While the existing version of Jupiter comes at a price of Rs. 47,339 (ex-showroom, Delhi), its one-up disc brake variant will cost Rs. 2500 to Rs. 3000 more than the standard one.
