TVS Motor To Launch 50 Electric Scooter In India

TVS Motors, the third largest two-wheeler giant of India is to resume the production of electric scooters that was stopped a long time back. With this re-entry in the e-scooter arena, it will launch 50 new electric scooters in India. This is reveled by a senior TVS officials and these 50 electric scooters are under testing across various towns in the country. All the Scooters would be launched in next financial year. About the price and availability the company has not announced nothing yet but might be available between price range of Rs 26,000 to Rs. 48,000 as its former electric scooter TVS Scooty Teenz.
TVS Motor is already having an electric scooter - TVS Scooty Teenz- with hopes of 40000 units sales per year but due to negative demand its production had been stopped in May 2009. Now the company is excited and ready to come up with these 50 electric scooters in Indian market. The production of these scooters would be started by the end of this year.
TVS Motors is Chennai based domestic firm which has a big market share in Indian two-wheeler market and clinging on number third after Hero Honda and Bajaj Auto. The company always comes with new and different products with some difference. Last year it has launched India's first gear-less bike TVS Jive along with power scooter TVS Wego. Apart from this, the company houses lots of popular two-wheelers in its portfolio. It's another popular bikes in India are Tvs Max, Tvs Flame, Tvs Sport, Tvs Star meanwhile TVS Apache is its iconic model that is getting buzz response from customers which is available in 160cc and 180cc variants.
Recently this 180 variant of the Apache got ABS which comes first time in domestic market. TVS Apache 180 ABS is India's first motorcycle which has been bestowed with ABS System and priced at Rs. 78,800 at Ex-showroom Delhi.
