TVS Motors aims to grow by 10% in 2016-17

TVS Motor Company, the Chennai based two-wheeler manufacturer is aiming at a 10% growth in sales for the coming fiscal, 2016-17. The company is also wanting to capture 20% of the Indian two-wheeler market by the year 2019. Mr. J S Srinivasan, vice president - sales & service, informed that the company is presently clocking around 1.85 lakh units per month.
Mr. J S Srinivasan was quoted saying, "Next year (2016-17), we expect the industry to grow by 5 to 6%. That's what is being estimated by various analysts. We should be growing at 10% over the current financial year." Speaking further about the recently launched TVS Victor, he said, "We believe that TVS Victor is a world-class product as it takes a big step forward in terms of performance with ride and handling so as to deliver complete rider control and comfort."
TVS is trying hard to increase its sales. On January 20th 2016, it had launched the updated version of the Victor and the 200cc Apache. TVS is also planning to sell its two-wheeler line up through an online portal. The company is aiming towards a sales growth of 10% with the Apache series coming into action, followed by the Victor and its 110cc scooter, the Jupiter. For the month of February 2016, TVS sold over 2.1 lakh units recording a sales growth of 8% as compared to the corresponding month last year.
