TVS Mulling Over To Launch Cheapest Bike In India

One more India based two-wheeler maker-TVS Motors is mulling over to launch cheapest bike in India. Prior to TVS, Honda was reported to launch cheapest bike for India but yet not launched. Now TVS Motors seems to win the battle of low-priced bike in India. The TVS bike would be launched in the next financial year.
TVS Motors is India's third largest two-wheeler manufacturer which has commuter to entry-level sports bikes in its portfolio. The company sold 1.6 million units of two-wheelers from till February this financial year and registered a growth of 31 per cent as against same period of the corresponding year.
At present, 100cc TVS Star and TVS Sport are the cheapest bikes from TVS stable and their price start from 36,000 while TVS moped is priced at Rs. 25,000. The new cheaper upcoming bike would be priced less than the existing TVS Bikes. The bike would be loaded with 100cc engine and innovative body design which will be deciding factor to target Indian rural and township areas.
TVS is the pride owner of TVS Apache which has got ABS now. The bike is available with name of TVS Apache 180 ABS and gets the crown of Indian first ABS bike before Honda CBR 250R.
In view to target the Indian rural and township areas, the company re-launched its TVS Maxx with 125cc engine that has got new two piece seat, four suspensions and new appearance. On the other hand, the company is also planning to launch a 250cc bike against CBR 250R and upcoming Bajaj Pulsar 250R.
As per experts, 9 million bikes sold every year and TVS motors has a big stake in it and TVS Sport and TVS Start pumping the sales of the company. The new cheapest bike has been developed at its research and development centre in China. This new motorcycle is likely to hit Indian roads in the starting of year 2012.
On the other hand, TVS has also made announcement to re-launch electric scooter in India and an electric version of TVS Scooty Teenz.
