With a new variant here, the TVS NTorq 125 lineup gets more vibrant
You know the best quality of vanilla ice cream? It’s not only wholesome by itself, but also accentuates any other flavour or topping you pair it with. The TVS NTorq 125 formula is a little like that. TVS made a scooter that’s pretty wholesome from the get-go, and then scoop after scoop added six flavours to the NTorq 125 to make it even tastier.
So what's vanilla? Well, across all six variants the underpinnings are the same: a firm, underbone tubular frame sheltering a 124.8cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine offering a zesty 9.38Ps and 10.5Nm, unless you’re eyeing the faster RaceXP variant. Its precise fuel injection, and acceleration that always feels eager to let loose, is coupled with telescopic suspension with hydraulic dampers in the front and a coil spring with hydraulic dampers at the back. Also common across variants are the 12-inch tubeless alloy wheels that add to the convenience. Unless you’re opting for the drum brake option from the base variant, all options feature a 220mm front disc with sufficient stopping power on tap. Furthermore, combined braking is a feature available on all variants as standard. The NTorq, then, is a feature-rich proposition and a digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity is also made standard, unless you’re (once again) eyeing the top-spec XT variant. And with features like this, let’s have a quick look at the TVS Ntorq 125 variants and what sets them apart.
TVS NTorq 125 Standard
Drum - Rs 77,106
The most accessible option of the lot can be had in a metallic shade of blue and grey. Being on the more basic side of the spectrum, it misses out on the LED headlight and the front disc brake.
TVS NTorq 125 Disc - Rs 81,561
For Rs 4,410 more you get a front disc brake and four colour options - a metallic shade of grey, blue and red, and a matte red as well.
TVS NTorq 125 Race Edition - Rs 85,161
Spend Rs 3,600 more and TVS offers an LED headlight and two unique to variant colour options - Race edition yellow and red for you to choose from.
TVS NTorq 125 Super Squad Edition - Rs 87,661
This one is for all the Marvel fans out there! The Super Squad edition is a co-branded special where you can get your NTorq factory-wrapped in your favourite Avengers livery. Amazing Red is a Spider Man special, Thor ushers the Lighting Gray, Combat Blue is Captain America’s uniform and Stealth Black is a homage to Black Panther. Livery aside, the LED headlight is available as standard.
TVS NTorq 125 Race XP - Rs 89,211
This is India’s first 125cc scooter to feature ride modes, and also produces 10.2PS and 10.8 Nm (making it the most powerful 125cc scooter on sale). TVS even managed to shave two kilograms off the kerb weight, making this scooter more engaging than its siblings. Also on offer is a voice assist feature added to its list along with the LED headlight. The Race XP is available in only one colour: Race Red Black. TVS NTorq 125 XT - Rs 1,02,823
The most recent entrant to the lineup is also the most expensive. The NTorq XT misses out on the Race XP’s perky power delivery but ups the ante by rolling another round of industry firsts such as a hybrid TFT-cum-LCD screen with unique new features to interact with using Bluetooth connectivity. It also features a new colourway called Neon green. Read what’s new in the XT variant in our launch story.
