TVS NTorq 125 Race XP Sets Asian Record For Fastest Kanyakumari To Leh Time

TVS Racing’s Shamim Khan achieved the feat four hours quicker than the previous record

Some say you need an adventure tourer to tour the length of the country. Well, TVS Racing’s Shamim Khan clearly had other ideas. He took a bone stock TVS NTorq 125 Race XP from Kanyakumari to Leh in a record time of 126 hours and 14 minutes. In the process, he achieved the ‘Fastest Scooter Ride from Kanyakumari to Leh,’ smashing the previous record by over four hours.

What made this feat all the more impressive is that he had to endure the raging monsoons in the Western Ghats and even a few lingering showers all the way up to Chandigarh. Now, we’ve had a similar experience riding the NTorq in torrential rain on our way to Goa (watch our escapade here), and we must doff our hats off to Shamim for soldiering on, despite the rains and the challenging roads he must’ve encountered on his way.

When we read the press statement, we weren’t surprised, though. The NTorq is one of the sportiest scooters we have ridden, marrying comfort, convenience, and performance into one brilliant package. And whatever performance compromise TVS engineers had to make to meet the BS6 norms, the Race XP sort of nullified that.
