TVS plans to invest Rs 200 crore by April 2011

ndia's third largest two-wheeler manufacturer, TVS Motors is targeting to increase their production capacity by the investing Rs 200 crore by April 2011. The company also planning to open a new design center in Indonesia, where the company has already launched a manufacturing facility. The company is quickly increasing its products range with the launches new bikes in the Indian auto market.

TVS Motors is also targeting to sell 18 lakh units of two-wheelers in the domestic market and exports more than 2.5 lakh units in the current calender year. Venu Srinivasan, Chairman of TVS Motor Company, "There is an increasing demand and to meet that we are increasing our production capacity to 28 lakh units from the existing 21 lakh units per Annam. It will entail an investment Rs 200 crore by April 2011. " TVS Motors is also intending to set up an assembly units in Brazil. Right now, the company assembles its motorcycle TVS Apache in Brazil. Besides, TVS Motors is going to spread their exports market across the various countries, but currently looking to exports in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and ASEAN countries. Meanwhile, the company is also ready to launch the new products including TVS Max, TVS Neo, TVS Streak hybrid and TVS Apache 220. TVS Jive, India's made first auto clutch motorcycle has been selling 8000 units per month.
