BMW K3 Spied: New 300cc Motorcycle from TVS/BMW Venture

Yes you it read right. Ever since TVS teamed up with BMW, we’ve been eagerly waiting to see what comes out of this partnership. No one could say for sure what the outcome would be, but we had high hopes. Now finally we’ve got a glimpse at motorcycle that even though is still a concept, should become a reality and go into production early 2016.  



Shown recently in Brazil, the new 300cc motorcycle codenamed the K3 is the outcome of the BMW/TVS project. Spy shots earlier this year revealed it had an unusual back-to-front cylinder, with the exhaust exiting from the rear - as has this concept. BMW is expected to produce several models based on the K3 platform and would develop a range of sub-500cc bikes and we expect TVS to do the same.



From looking at the pictures, the G 310 is essentially a stunt motorcycle with all the bells and whistles. The final production version meant for regular road use though should sport a bit more bodywork and lights but the overall stance and intent seems to have been concretised with the Concept G 310. It sports a short wheelbase, Up Side Down forks, chunky Metzeler tyres, an aggressive riding position, a neat looking vertical exhaust and a power packed 310 cc single-cylinder engine.



We speculate that this is what BMW/TVS have cooked up to give the KTM Duke a serious run for its money. We’ll know more early next year but for now, we love what they’ve done.
