The 100cc commuter motorcycle achieved an on-road fuel efficiency figure of 76.4kmpl on the Golden Quadrilateral
- Pavitra Patro completed the run in just 20 days.
- The total distance covered was a staggering 6,377km.
- TVS Sport is powered by a 99.7cc motor and has a claimed fuel efficiency of 95kmpl.
Completing the Golden Quadrilateral (Delhi-Kolkata-Mumbai-Chennai) is a big deal. While some might choose a comfortable cruiser which can reach triple-digit speeds, a riding enthusiast, Pavitra Patro chose to complete this journey on a TVS Sport. And while doing so, he managed to cover a distance of 6,377km in a span of 20 days. What’s more interesting is that he achieved an on-road mileage of 76.4 kmpl, setting a new record.
What makes it even more significant is that, as you know, this is not the best time for setting a record as the country is seeing heavy rainfall in most of the regions. Now, there are chances that your frugal commuter motorcycle might deliver more than 76.4kmpl, but this record comes under the category of 'Highest Fuel efficiency delivered by a motorcycle on the Golden Quadrilateral.'
One also needs to factor in various elements while achieving this kind of fuel efficiency, from riding style to weight to varying weather conditions. However, the most important aspect is the engine. The TVS Sport is powered by a 99.7cc single-cylinder engine which produces 7.4PS of power and 7.5Nm of torque, paired to a four-speed gearbox. The company also claims that the Sport can return 95kmpl!
In terms of rivals, the TVS Sport goes up against the Hero HF Deluxe, Bajaj CT 100 and the Platina 100.
