TVS Star, one of the great performer entry-level bike model by India's third largest two wheeler maker TVS Motors, is on Hero Honda Splendor way in term of sales. This flagship model was launched in 2004 and reported that till now TVS Star has crossed the sales mark of 30 lakh. Presently the bike is available in three variants like TVS Star, TVS Star City and another is TVS Star Sport. All the models are having outstanding features and stunning looks along with impressive mileage. In terms of mileage, features and performance, TVS Star bikes are major competitor of Hero Honda CD Deluxe, Hero Honda CD Dawn and Bajaj Platina 100.
The main reason for higher sales of the Star include new features, styling, refreshing graphics, electric start and standard features fitment. It is the first bike which comes with five year warranty and signifying the quality assurance by the company while cricket star MS Dhoni is the brand ambassador for the bike.
We should do remember, this entry-level commuter bike comes equipped with 109.7cc, CTVi, 4 stroke, air cooled, OHC engine. This upgraded engine belts out a maximum power of 6.1 kw at 7,500 rpm and pumps out a top torque of 8.1 Nm at 5,000 rpm. TVS Star City is integrated with 4 speed manual gearbox along with smooth handling clutch. The bike delivers impressive mileage of around 80kmpl.
On the other hand, TVS Motors has entered in the entry-level sports bike segment with its TVS Apache 180cc engine which is now upgraded with ABS. Meanwhile TVS Scooty is also leading the woman oriented scooters segment in India.
