The Chennai based two-wheeler manufacturer- TVS Motor, is always criticised for a huge time-lag between the launch of new two-wheelers. Now, the company has plans to launch a new product in every quarter of fiscal year 2015. The company has already launched the all new Star City Plus in May 2014 and is performing quite well in the market. Now, the products scheduled for the upcoming quarters are- Scooty Zest, new Victor and new Apache.
The company is going to invest Rs 250 crore in FY15 to achieve the set targets. Chairman and managing director of TVS Motor, Mr. Venu Srinivasan said, “We are in the fourth position today and we target to be in the top three players in India, with the stream of product launches every quarter or four months for the next three years, which will significantly strengthen our position.”
Unveiled first at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo, TVS Scooty Zest is now scheduled to be launched in August, 2014. It will be a new addition in the company's popular female specific scooter range- Scooty. Key features of the Zest are- a wide seat, first-in-class backlit speedometer, best-in-class 19 litre under-seat storage and mileage of 62kmpl. It shares the refined 110cc CVT-i engine with the Jupiter.
The company will relaunch the Victor in a new avatar by the end of Q3, 2015 in December, while the new Apache is scheduled for the last quarter. TVS hasn't revealed any detail or first impressions of these products yet. However, looking forward at the great performance of the company's latest offerings, we expect the new ones to perform even better.
TVS performed quite well in the first quarter with a gain of 0.5 percent in the market share. For the first time in last 2 years, the company recorded tremendous domestic growth of 19% in the Q1, 2015.
Mr. Shrinivasan also said that the company will also focus on the exports in the emerging markets like South America, Africa and Indonesia. With all these efforts, the company wishes to join the podium with Hero MotoCorp and Honda in the Indian two-wheeler market.
