2016 TVS Victor to come on 20 January

Some reports have confirmed that one of the best selling commuters of its time - TVS Victor is coming back to India on January 20. What is even more interesting is that the company would also be bringing their flagship model Apache 200 on the same day. TVS Victor was launched in India back in the year 2001. Later, the company released its more variants including a 125cc Victor GLX. This bike was noteworthy for the manufacturer as it was the first motorcycle to be manufactured by TVS on its own.

Though not enough information is available at the moment but speculations are that the new TVS Victor will come powered by an 110cc, four-stroke, air-cooled engine that is expected to make power and torque figures of around 8.3bhp and 8.7Nm respectively. The suspension setup would comprise of telescopic forks up front with spring aided shock absorbers at the rear. For braking, the company might equip the bike with an optional front disc brake along with dual drum brakes as standard.

The 2016 TVS Victor is expected to be priced over Rs. 45,000 and will rival with Hero Passion Pro and Bajaj Platina 100 ES. However, seeing the impressive sales numbers of TVS in the 100/110cc segment due to Star City+ and Sport, we personally believe that TVS should bring its next commuter motorcycle for a different segment. If reports are to be believed, the company’s 125cc product portfolio has TVS Phoenix as sole member and this particular model is not meeting the expectations of the manufacturer and is going through a bad phase. For this reason, TVS should come up with a 125cc variant of TVS Victor again in order to give some stability to this motorcycle segment.
