TVS XL 100 Launched in Tamil Nadu at Rs. 29,539

After launching XL 100 moped in Uttar Pradesh last year, TVS Motor has launched it in Tamil Nadu on January 25, 2016. With this launch, the leading Indian two-wheeler manufacturer is looking forward to targeting rural customers that require an efficient, economical and multi-utility two-wheeler. TVS XL 100 houses a 99.7cc, 4-stroke engine that can make it reach a top speed of 60kmph and return a mileage of 67kmpl (company claimed). It is priced at Rs. 29,539 (ex-showroom) in Tamil Nadu.

In 2015, XL Super moped crossed the overall sales mark of 1 crore units and the company is hoping for more sales with new XL 100. Speaking at the launch, J S Srinivasan, vice president - sales and service, TVS Motor, said, "This launch reiterates our commitment to deliver high quality, customer centric products and also underlines our commitment to establish a strong brand connect with our customers." At its launch event in UP, a company official stated, "The company has retained the form and the utility value of the earlier moped. TVS XL100 is designed to meet the evolving needs of today's consumer." He added, “TVS XL 100 is one of the reliable, easy to ride, powerful multi-utility two-wheelers in the market.” 

TVS is also working hard to be one of the top 5 two-wheeler manufacturers in the world by 2020. Talking about the same, Mr. Venu Srinivasan, chairman, TVS Motor, said, “We would like to be among the top five motorcycle manufacturers globally by 2020 and we would like to do that by focusing on products below 250 cc and on southern hemisphere markets like South Asia, Southeast Asia, Africa and South America.” He added, “As a company, we are confident that it will be able to engineer our way to global top 5."
