UM Renegade Commando and Sport S Bookings Commenced

UM Motorcycles India has restarted the bookings for its Renegade Commando and Sport S cruisers with first deliveries expected in August.

The American motorcycle maker, UM Motorcycles, entered the Indian market with Lohia Auto, an electric vehicle manufacturer. Both formed a new company called UM Lohia Two Wheelers Pvt Ltd and launched a range of cruisers - the Renegade Commando, the Renegade Sport S and the Renegade Classic at the 2016 Auto Expo. The company also started bookings of the first two motorcycles from the same day. However, the bookings were closed after the first thousand and deliveries of the bikes haven’t started yet.

Now, the company is going to commence the deliveries from June onwards for the first thousand orders. So, UM has re-opened the bookings for the next lot of the Renegade Commando and the Renegade Sport S. Deliveries of the next batch will start in August.

The UM Renegade is a range of entry-level cruisers which are powered by 279.5cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, four-valve engine. It makes up to 24.8bhp of power at 8,500rpm and delivers torque up to 21.8Nm at 7,000 rpm. The motor comes mated to an advanced 6-speed Synchronous Mesh gearbox with overdrive for smooth running and efficient performance.

Along with a very ergonomic design, the range of smart cruisers feature aggressive styling, fat tyres, front disc brake, beefy 41mm front forks, side LED lights for 360-degree visibility, digital speedometer, USB charging port, under seat storage space, and much more. All these cool features and the powerful motor in a comfortable cruiser comes with a starting price tag of Rs. 1.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
