It gets the same engine as the Dominar 400 but is likely to be peppier to suit the bike’s character
Bajaj has finally launched the Pulsar NS400Z in India at Rs 1,85,000 (ex-showroom). The biggest Pulsar shares the same 373cc engine as the Dominar 400 but is Rs 45,815 more affordable.
The images of the upcoming Bajaj Pulsar NS400 have been leaked online ahead of its launch on May 3, 2024. These images provide the clearest view yet of the bike, showcasing details about its design, engine, and features.
The overall design of the bike looks similar to the Bajaj Pulsar NS200. The fuel tank design is similar to the NS200 but with slight tweaks here and there. However, the split-seat setup, split grab rail and tail section look sharp, and is very similar to the NS200. The bike gets an LED projector headlight accompanied by lightning bolt-shaped LED DRLs (daytime running lights) which look like a combination of the Pulsar N250 and the Pulsar NS200’s headlights. The bike also gets a gold-finished inverted fork that adds to its sporty design.
The Pulsar NS400 has a single-piece handlebar and gets adjustable brake and clutch levers. The front fender features carbon fibre texture and red highlights. The bike gets an underbelly exhaust and the tyre hugger is mounted on the left side, opposite to the NS200 where it is mounted on the right.
Going by the engine casing, it is clear that the bike gets the Bajaj Dominar 400’s 373.3cc single-cylinder engine (40PS and 35Nm in the Dominar), but expect peppier performance as compared to the sporty cruiser. Of course it would get the same 6-speed gearbox. The Bajaj Pulsar NS400 has inverted fork and gas-charged monoshock. It gets a cost-effective box-section swingarm as compared to the aluminium swingarm on the Dominar 400. The bike gets 110-section front and 150-section rear tyres, same setup as the Dominar 400, the 17-inch alloys wheel design is the same as NS200.
The Pulsar NS400 is expected to get the same fully LCD console as the Pulsar NS200 with smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. It is likely to get ABS modes and traction control as the Pulsar N250. If we are lucky, Bajaj can also provide the bike with riding modes.

It will be a cheaper option as compared to its rivals, which include the KTM Duke 390, Triumph Speed 400, TVS Apache RTR 310 and the Husqvarna Svartpilen 401.
