This Royal Enfield adventure bike is all set to debut in the coming months
Over the last few months Royal Enfield has been aggressively testing the upcoming Himalayan 450, the next-generation model of the popular adventure tourer. Recently, on one of its routine test runs, the Himalayan 450 test mule was spotted, and since we don't have rights to the images, we have refrained from sharing those here. But here's what we observed from the images:
It appears as if Royal Enfield is trying on a pair of new Ceat dual purpose tyres for the Himalayan 450, straying away from the old and not so grippy Ceat Gripp XLs. A closer look at the spoke rims confirms the bike’s tyres are tubed.
The tank braces are seen featuring loops suggesting it too could get a comprehensive list of mountable luggage and accessories. These loops should help riders mount their own preferred aftermarket luggage systems with ease. Another observation is with regard to the levers. Firstly, they don't appear to be adjustable.
Secondly, one's black and the other one's chrome. Royal Enfield could be testing for feel and feedback to pick the better one of the two. Lastly, the new instrument console looks big for a regular LCD and could possibly be a new TFT unit, most likely with smartphone connectivity.
Since Royal Enfield intends on releasing a new model every three months, we anticipate the Himalayan 450 to arrive on our shores in the middle of 2023. It may be priced at roughly Rs 2.8 lakh (ex-showroom), it will rival bikes like the KTM 390 Adventure and the upcoming Hero XPulse 400.
