The 2021 Benda BD300 cruiser comes with a slew of subtle yet impactful changes

  • The 2021 model gets a redesigned fuel tank, front and rear fenders, and an updated seat.
  • It also features a double-sided exhaust layout and slightly more upright ergonomics.
  • Expect the bike to be launched in China in the coming weeks.

The 2021 Benda BD300 cruiser has been spotted at a dealership, hinting at its imminent launch in China. The 2021 iteration of the Benda 300cc cruiser packs a raft of updates, making it even more wholesome than before.

The ergonomics have now been revised to ensure a more upright stance, thanks to the massively raised dragster handlebars. Benda has tweaked the fuel tank design; the shape of the front and rear fenders has also been updated to go with the new wheels and tyres.

The bike now rolls on a meatier 130-section front tyre (wrapped in the same 16-inch alloys as before) instead of the 120-section unit in the 2020 model. The rear wheel size has gone up from 15 inches to 16, wrapped in the same 150-section rubber as before. The tyre brand appears to be different too. Earlier, the motorcycle rolled on Timsun tyres. In contrast, the 2021 model appears to be running Michelin Scorcher 31 tyres at both ends, going by the tread pattern.

The single-sided dual-exhaust layout has been changed to a more symmetric double-sided one in the 2021 model. However, the powerplant is still the 298cc liquid-cooled V-twin motor churning out the same 30.5PS and 25.3Nm as before. The 6-speed transmission linked to the belt drive has also remained unchanged.

Benda launched the 300cc cruiser in May 2020 at 19,980 Yuan (Rs 2.12 lakh) for the base variant. Expect the updated model to be an equivalent of Rs 10,000 - Rs 15,000 more than before. While this cruiser may not come to India, we could expect something equally exciting from Harley-Davidson. Its Chinese partner, Qianjiang, has been working on a 300cc cruiser called the SRV300. In fact, the motorcycle was recently spotted in a production-ready state. Expect this cruiser to be launched in India in 2022.
