The 2023 iteration will feature a more powerful 4-valve engine and an upside-down fork
Hero has once again teased the upcoming Xtreme 160R, and its set for launch tomorrow. The 2023 iteration will have a more powerful engine with sportier underpinnings than its predecessor.
As the latest teaser suggests, the street naked will get a new golden USD fork, replacing its telescopic unit. This new model’s engine will retain the same 163cc displacement but thanks to a new 4-valve head, it should get a slight bump in torque and power, as well as slightly better refinement. For reference, the outgoing model produced 15.2PS and 14Nm.
Along with the engine, the bike will also feature a new revamped design with sportier styling and new colour options giving the bike a more premium appeal. Additionally, the bike is also expected to replace its basic LCD console with the new digital cluster, likely with smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation, which we just saw on the updated XPulse 200 twins.
Summing up, the updated Hero Xtreme 160R is expected to command a premium of Rs 6000 to Rs 8000 over the current model which costs Rs 1.19 lakh. And with rivals like the Bajaj Pulsar N160 and TVS Apache RTR 160 4V packing the latest tech, this update for the Xtreme 160R was long overdue.
