Upgraded TVS RockZ and TVS Apache confirmed by TVS

Upgraded models of TVS Rockz and TVS Apache are coming very soon in India, as per the company statement. TVS has announced the third quarter results of year 2010 today. In the press release, the company confirmed the launch of TVS Rockz and TVS Apache (might be TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS) in the fourth quarter that is by March 2011.

TVS Rockz comes equipped with a 125cc of powerplant that is able to churn out max power of 9.8 bhp at 7500 rpm and returns a maximum torque of 9.8 Nm at 7500 rpm. The Rockz also features self and kick start options as other scooters in India. The upcoming scooter has front disc brake and rear drum type brakes. The two-wheeler is expected to carry fatter tyres and larger wheels; the speculated price tag of the TVS Rockz is Rs. 50,000.

On the other hand, TVS Apache RTR 180 is supposed to get ABS system that will definitely increase the ex-showroom price of the vehicle. The bike comes with 4 stroke, single cylinder, 177.4cc engine that develops a top power of 17.3 bhp at 8500 rpm and highest torque of 15.5 nm at 6500 rpm via five speed gearbox.
