Italian electric two-wheeler brand Velocifero (VLF) has set its eyes on the Indian market and partnered up with KAW Veloce Motors Pvt Ltd for manufacturing and distribution in India. With this partnership, they are set to launch their electric scooter ‘Tennis’ by the festive season this year. The Italian manufacturer has planned to establish a ‘state of the art’ manufacturing facility in Kolhapur, Maharashtra.
Recently, we also saw KAW Veloce Motors Pvt Ltd partnering up with the Austrian bikemaker Brixton Motorcycles to launch their 4 premium bikes. Here’s more about it.
Here’s what we know about the electric scooter ‘Tennis’:
It is available in two variants: 1.5kW & 4kW. The 1.5kW variant has a top speed of 45kmph and gets a claimed range of 60km while riding at 40kmph – with a charging time of approximately 3 hours. On the other hand, the bigger 4kW variant has a top speed of 100kmph and a claimed range of 100km while riding at 40kmph. It charges in approximately 5-6 hours.
Looking at what it offers in the tech department, both variants get an LED headlight & taillight with integrated signal lights and a 5-inch TFT display. It is equipped with a telescopic front fork and a single shock absorber at the rear. It has disc brakes on the front and rear with CBS (combined braking system). It rolls on 12-inch tubeless wheels front and rear. Both variants come with 2 swappable lithium batteries. Looking to make its place in the market, the electric scooter will be priced competitively. Overall the scooter has its Italian charm while being an EV. It has a similar minimalistic design language to the electric scooters from Ola Electric.
VLF has plans to target tier 1 and tier 2 cities majorly. Their goal is to have 15 dealerships operational by the end of 2024 and increase that to 50 by the end of this financial year.
