The four-cylinder 400cc supersport tries on three different exhausts
Kawasaki Indonesia has uploaded a video on its official YouTube channel that screams for our attention, quite literally. The video showcases a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR screamer with three different types of exhausts – standard, Yoshimura and Akrapovic, and how they sound. Watch the video below.
The standard exhaust has the grunty note, and while at lower rpms it is nothing out of the ordinary, the higher rpms unlocks its throaty four-cylinder scream. However, this exhaust is chunky and might not appeal to everyone in terms of appearance.
Unlocking the four-cylinder screamer potential of the bike is the Yoshimura Hepta Force TSS full system exhaust. Lower revs or higher, this exhaust note is fierce and goes perfectly well with the screamer-nature of the 400cc Ninja. Even while idling, the Yoshimura offers a dominating bassy note.

Lastly, we have the Akrapovic, a slip-on full system exhaust that due to its lovely and clean design increases the aesthetic appeal, not to mention the gorgeous carbonfibre canister. This exhaust sounds gruff on the ZX-4RR at lower revs but transforms into a loud, clean note at higher revs.
In conclusion, we adore the Yoshimura exhaust with its clean design and lovely sound. That said, both Yoshimura and Akrapovic are not road legal. Which one do you like better? Let us know in the comments.
The Ninja ZX-4RR costs IDR 2,39,900,000, which is equivalent to Rs 13.23 lakh without Indian taxes. That’s quite expensive, thanks to the different taxation systems in the country. For perspective, the much more powerful, India-spec Ninja ZX-10R costs Rs 16,31,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).
