Here’s a week’s worth of two-wheeler news
The week that was had a couple of bike launches, upcoming bikes being spied and news about select dealerships unofficially accepting bookings for the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650. Here’s a summary of all the two-wheeler news that transpired this week.
Yamaha likely to launch MT-15 in India
Sources close to the company have informed us that Yamaha intends to introduce three bikes from the MT-range in India by next year. The MT-15 is expected to be the first to arrive at our shores. That said, the company is also considering the MT-03 which is basically a naked version of the R3. Moreover, the big-daddy of them all, the MT-10 is expected to be introduced as well. Special Edition TVS Sport Launched In India At Rs 40,088
TVS’ entry-level motorcycle now has a special edition model, which will be available in two variants. Features include a longer seat, a wider pillion grabrail, new graphics, stylised rearview mirrors and an embossed logo on the tank. Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650 Unofficial Bookings Open
With the launch dates of the much-anticipated RE 650 twins inching closer, select dealerships across India have started accepting bookings for the bikes. Customers can book the Interceptor 650 or the Continental GT 650 for a token amount of Rs 5,000. Although, we’d like to add that this amount could vary from dealership to dealership. Deliveries for these bikes are expected to commence by the end of next month, post the official launch of the 650 twins. Head here for more details.
Hero Destini 125 Scooter Launched
Hero MotoCorp has forayed into the 125cc scooter segment with the launch of the Destini 125. The scooter will be available in two variants, the base Lx variant priced at Rs 54,650 and Vx, priced at Rs 57,500. In terms of features, the top-end variant gets dual-textured seat, body coloured mirrors, alloys wheels and chrome accents on the front, side and rear panels. That said, both the variants feature Hero’s i3s technology which is a segment first. More details here.
2019 Yamaha FZ Fi Spied In India
The refreshed 160cc bike, which is expected to launch early next year, was spied on test runs. And, from the looks of it, the bike has undergone a major redesign, which is in line with the styling of its elder sibling, the FZ25. This iteration of the FZ gets a butch headlight, a muscular fuel-tank and more!
