The two-wheeler industry sprung back to action in many parts of the world after COVID-19 lockdown relaxation
The global automotive industry had been stifled for quite some time thanks to the coronavirus pandemic. However, lockdown restrictions have been made a bit more lenient in many parts of the world including India to enable the resumption of economic activities. Thanks to this, both the Indian as well as the global two-wheeler segment witnessed some heartening action. Check out our top five picks:
Husqvarna & KTM bikes prices hiked:
Husqvarna entered the Indian market with very competitive pricing for the Vitpilen 250 and Svartpilen 250. However, the caveat was that the prices were introductory and now, after about five months, they have been hiked. What’s more? Its parent company KTM too has hiked the prices of its entire range in India.
Kawasaki W800 & Versys 1000 launched:
After the 2020 Ninja 650, Kawasaki continued its BS6 onslaught with the launch of the large capacity mile muncher, the Versys 1000 and the achingly gorgeous and old-school W 800 BS6. The icing on the cake is that the W 800 is not only greener but also a lot more affordable than before.
BMW F 900 R & F 900 XR launched:
BMW Motorrad kicked off its BS6 innings in India with the launch of not one but two motorcycles at the same time. The BMW F 900 R is a streetfighter whereas the F 900 XR is a sports tourer. While the F 900 R looks like the bigger brother of the G 310 R, the F 900 XR is the production version of the drop-dead gorgeous Concept 9Cento. Check out the price list and other details about the two motorcycles here.
Benda 300cc cruiser launched:
Chinese manufacturer Benda suddenly came into the global spotlight with its outrageously designed and aptly named Asura 400. Now the brand has launched another striking cruiser, but this time, it packs fewer cubes. However, it has got all the makings of an American cruiser: V twin engine, fat tyres, chopped fenders and even a belt drive. The best bit is that it comes at a cracker of a price tag.
