Honda Updates The Activa 125:

This week, Honda launched the updated variant of the Activa 125 at Rs 59,621 (ex-showroom Delhi). The 2018 model gets additional features such as an LED headlamp, an updated semi-digital instrument cluster and black alloy wheels. The scooter continues to be powered by the same engine as the earlier version. You can read all about the changes in detail here. TVS XL100 Heavy Duty i-Touch Start Launched:

TVS updated its popular moped, the XL100 Heavy Duty, with an electric start feature this week. The moped also gains a new colour, bringing the total colour choices to seven. The electric start feature adds to the moped’s convenience factor. The manufacturer says it has been designed for multiple cranks as well. There are no changes to the powertrain nor the mechanical underpinnings of the XL100. At Rs 36,109 (ex-showroom Delhi), the i-Touch Start variant is priced at a premium of Rs 2,600 when compared to the standard Heavy Duty variant without the electric start. Here’s the launch story.

Bajaj Flourishes In June Sales; Offers 5-year Warranty:

Bajaj Auto witnessed a massive growth of 86 per cent year-on-year (YOY) last month. The Pune-based bike manufacturer dispatched a total of 3,37,752 units last month, of which 2,00,949 motorcycles were sold in the domestic market. Here’s the detailed sales report.

Suzuki Plans To Go Electric; Burgman Street Launch Date Revealed:

Suzuki intends to launch an electric scooter and a motorcycle by 2020. The company will be making use of its upcoming lithium-ion battery plant in Gujarat for its upcoming electric two-wheelers. Interestingly, Suzuki’s four-wheeler arm, Maruti Suzuki, is also working on bringing an electric car into the country by 2020. Read more about Suzuki’s electric two-wheeler plans here.

The Japanese bike manufacturer has also announced the launch date of its premium 125cc maxi-style scooter, the Burgman Street, which was first unveiled at the 2018 Auto Expo, where it garnered a lot of attention owing to its European styling. The scooter will hit showrooms on 19 July and dealerships across the country have already begun accepting bookings for it, albeit unofficially. Powered by the same engine as the Access 125, it will compete with the Honda Grazia, TVS NTorq, Aprilia SR 125 and the Vespa SXL/VXL 125.

Royal Enfield Bids Adieu To The Continental GT 535:

Royal Enfield has discontinued the lightest and fastest motorcycle it has ever built, the Continental GT 535, to make way for the upcoming Continental 650. Dwindling sales figures, both in the domestic as well as the international market, is said to be the other reason behind the bike manufacturer pulling the plug on the cafe racer. We expect the Continental GT 650 to be launched in the last quarter of 2018. Likely to be priced at Rs 4 lakh, it will be way more affordable than its arch-rival, the Triumph Thruxton 1200, which costs Rs 11.27 lakh (ex-showroom India).

Hero Xtreme 200R Price Revealed:

Hero Motocorp launched the Xtreme 200R with a price tag of Rs 88,000 (ex-showroom). However, according to the manufacturer’s official website, the motorcycle is available only in West Bengal and the seven northeastern states. Going by the pricing, the Xtreme 200R is the cheapest 200cc motorcycle in the country, rivalling the Bajaj Pulsar NS 200, TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and Yamaha FZ25. 2019 Kawasaki Ninja 650 Launched:

Kawasaki India launched the 2019 model of the Ninja 650 in the country. The 2019 version comes gets the addition of a new Metallic Flat Spark Black colour option and costs Rs 5.49 lakh. Apart from the new colour scheme, the motorcycle is the same as the 2018 version. Kawasaki continues to sell the 2018 Ninja 650 KRT edition (Rs 5.69 lakh) and the blue-coloured variant (Rs 5.49 lakh) in the country. The Ninja 650 rivals the Honda CBR650F in the Indian market.
