The Lifan V16 packs a twin-cylinder motor and gets quite an affordable price tag
When it comes to rip-offs, no one quite does like the Chinese. Last month, we came across the ‘Chimalayan’ and were quite impressed by it. This time around we have the Lifan V16 cruiser and it seems that the Suzuki Intruder can take some notes from it.
The Lifan V16 is powered by a 250cc V twin-cylinder motor that makes 17.6 PS of power and 19Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Rumour has it that Suzuki has been working on a 250cc Intruder and hopefully it will be launched by late 2021. The 250cc motor used on the Gixxer duo is a 249cc single-cylinder engine and makes 26.5PS and 22.2Nm.

The V16 is covered in ample chrome parts and carries a low-slung, comfortable cruiser stance. It gets a twin-pod instrument console, one an LCD and the other an analogue dial. The LED headlight, split seat and dual-exhaust pipes also complement the overall appearance well.
The Chinese Intruder employs a telescopic fork and twin shock absorbers at the rear. The braking hardware comprises a single disc at both ends with a single-channel ABS.
In China, the Lifan V16 retails at CNY 17,600, which in our currency is around Rs 2 lakh. And considering what the bike offers for its asking price, it surely makes for a good deal.
