The most trusted two-wheeler manufacturer in India, Hero MotoCorp, has launched its new player in the scooter segment against the offerings like Honda Activa and TVS Jupiter. As it is a unisex scooter, it has been christened as Duet and it is available in two different trims- LX and VX. The prior one has been priced at Rs. 48,400, while the latter one comes with a sticker price tag of Rs. 49,900 (both ex-showroom, Bangalore). But why you should pay Rs. 1,500 extra for the Duet VX instead of buying the LX trim? We are going to tell you the answer.
Starting with a brief introduction, Hero Duet is a unisex scooter, built on an underbone type frame with a metal body. It runs on 10” metal sheet wheels using 90/100 section MRF Zapper tubeless tyres. Propelling the scooter is a new 110cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, OHC engine, which comes mated to a CVT automatic gearbox. The motor makes power up to 8.3bhp at 8,000rpm and delivers torque up to 8.3Nm at 6,500rpm. Some interesting standard features of the Duet are Integrated Braking System (IBS), external fuel filling, remote fuel-lid & boot opening and 6 exciting colour options, which comes with both the Duet LX and VX trims.
If talk about the biggest advantage of Hero Duet VX over the Duet LX, it gets the telescopic suspension at the front instead of the conventional bottom-link type unit. It enhances stability as well as rider comfort level of the scooter.
The Duet VX also gets an LCD screen in the instrument cluster, featuring digital odometer, trip meter and service due indicator. The company is also offering some interesting new features with the Duet, like under-seat USB mobile charging port, boot light and dual luggage hook, which comes standard with the VX trim, while they are optional with the LX version.
So, if you are going to buy the new Hero Duet, we will suggest you pay that extra Rs. 1,500 and go for the VX trim instead of the LX.
