We are just 3 days away from the highly awaited YZF-R3 launch from Yamaha, which has already created a lot of buzz in the Indian sports bike market. Due to the rising popularity of 300-350 cc motorcycles in India, Yamaha was expected to try its hands in the segment. We already have the official invite for the event at Buddh International Circuit, Noida on August 11, 2015 and will be updating you with live information. Earlier there were rumours that the company was planning the launch of R25, but decided to come up with a bigger model to lock the horns with KTM RC 390, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and others in the league.

The bike was first unveiled at EICMA in November 2014 and is a powerful version of R25. It is equipped with 321cc, twin cylinder engine, which produces the power output of 41 bhp and 29.5 Nm, while its closest competitor KTM RC390 comes with single cylinder engine and produces 43 bhp of power. However, to win battles, you need to have a tag it right and this is going to be a huge challenge for the Japanese giant to price it competitively. It will be available in three colours – Red, Blue and Black with ABS as an option, and we are expecting that the bike will be priced around Rs 2.8 lac (ex-showroom).
R3 looks quite similar to its sibling R25 but with few changes, which makes R3 sportier than the latter. They both share their dimensions, body panels and diamond frame. It has also taken some of the design inspirations from YZF-R Series, especially the headlamps, digital analogue console, 10 spoke alloy wheels and the silencer. It has 2090mm of length, 1135mm of height, 720mm of width and 1380mm of wheelbase. The bike is weighted at 169 kgs and has a ground clearance of 160mm.
The R-Series of Yamaha has certainly raised the standard of Supersports in the world, thanks to its amazing style, advance technology and thrilling performance. Most of the sports bike enthusiasts are eagerly waiting for this launch from Yamaha and the only mystery left is the price. For more details stay tuned!
