About KTM Duke 200 (2013 - 2024)
The updated 2024 KTM 200 Duke has been launched in India. It now comes with a new TFT console, features and a new colour option.
The KTM Duke was first launched in India back in 2012 and has been one of the most popular KTM bikes in India, thanks to its balance between pricing and performance.
KTM Duke 200 Price:
The updated KTM 200 Duke comes with a price tag of Rs 2,03,412 (ex-showroom Delhi). The bike is now offered in three colour options - Electronic Orange, Dark Galvano and Metallic Silver.
KTM 200 Duke Engine:
Even though the KTM Duke 200 hasn't received any significant engine upgrades over the last decade, it continues to be India's most powerful 200cc bike. The 199.5cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine powering the motorcycle delivers a max power output of 25PS at 10,000rpm and 19.3Nm of peak torque at 8,000rpm. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox.
KTM 200 Duke Suspension and Brakes:
The KTM Duke 200 is equipped with a 43mm diameter WP Apex inverted fork and a 10-step adjustable WP Apex monoshock. The front brake has a 300mm disc with a radially mounted calliper, while the rear wheel has a 230mm disc with a floating calliper. It has 17-inch wheels which are fitted with a 110-section tyre at the front and a 150-section tyre at the rear. The KTM 200 Duke boasts a fuel tank capacity of 13.4 litres. It also packs a slightly tall 822mm seat and a decent 155mm ground clearance.
KTM Duke 200 Key Features:
The KTM Duke 200 has been updated with a new 5-inch TFT console and left-hand-side switchgear from the KTM 390 Duke. Along with the basic information like a speedometer, odometer, fuel gauge, tachometer, trip meter, gear position indicator, a clock and other basic telltale lights. It also has an RPM light that alerts you to upshift when the engine revs up to the preset RPM.
The new updates have also added a new turn-by-turn navigation and new display modes. The bike also gets the existing features including call and SMS alerts, headset pairing and a switchable supermoto ABS mode which allows you to switch-off the rear ABS, to lock the rear wheel and slide the bike.
KTM 200 Duke Rivals:
The Duke 200 competes with Bajaj Pulsar NS200, TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and Hero Karizma XMR. Other alternatives at a similar price include the Suzuki Gixxer 250, Yamaha R15 V4, Bajaj Dominar 250, and Hero Mavrick 440.

KTM Duke 200 (2013 - 2024) Expert Review
Overview
KTM’s entire India lineup is now BS6 compliant. Most motorcycles have received a minor update primarily in the form of new paint options and a few odds and ends here and there, but the 390 Duke and the Duke 200 have received much more than that. While the Duke 390 now comes with a quickshifter as standard, the 200 Duke has been mechanically and visually redesigned as it was in dire need of an update.
Design
Since its launch in 2012, the 200 Duke never received any major design update. With the latest iteration, KTM’s designers went back to the drawing board and started designing from scratch. Well, it was a straightforward process as the bike maker has used the same design language as the Gen 2 KTM 250 Duke. So, both share the front end, seat layout, and even the fuel-tank design. We are not complaining because the result is still quite pretty.
The only thing we would have wished for is more colour options, especially the dark silver and grey ones seen on the new 250 Duke and the 390 Duke. The orange-black paint scheme has been around for a while and honestly, we would’ve preferred the matte grey paint on the trellis frame instead of black. Let’s hope someone from KTM is reading this and decides to surprise us by adding new colours to the lineup!
Engine, Mileage & Performance
We know what your main concern is with the BS6 200 Duke. Has the engine lost its mad character to be BS6 compliant? Well, no. The 200cc single-cylinder motor still retains its high-strung nature and even though it is now BS6 compliant, it makes the same power and torque as before (25PS and 19.3Nm). You can still feel some vibes above the 6000rpm mark on the footpegs and the fuel tank. Considering the extra pounds the Duke has gained, we believe there could be a difference in terms of performance, but while riding, we were hard-pressed to find any discernible difference. You’ll have to wait for the exact numbers until we put it through a VBox test.
Handling & Ride Quality
The suspension hardware remains the same as before -- a 43mm USD fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear. It’s too early to comment on the ride quality as we had a limited time with the motorcycle. But we’ve been assured by KTM India that the suspension is pretty much unchanged, except for a retune to cope with the increased weight. Apart from the subframe, the other major difference between the BS4 200 Duke and the BS6 model is the inclusion of dual-channel ABS. Now, out on the track, there was no chance to test ABS intervention, but if we’re being honest, the bite from the brakes felt a little unsatisfactory.
Now you do feel the extra weight that the motorcycle is carrying around, but does it make it hard to corner? Not really. Even though it weighs 11kg more than before, it is still quite easy to handle the 200 Duke around the corner.
Out in real-world conditions, we would advise you to take it easy while going over speed breakers and potholes as the ground clearance has gone from 175mm to 155mm. Again, the new exhaust system is to blame here as it goes from under the bike rather than the side as on the BS4 model.
Comfort
The KTM 200 Duke offers an upright yet sporty riding posture, with rear-set footpegs. While the seat is roomy, its width and height might make it a bit tricky for shorter riders to easily place both feet on the ground.
Features
The 200 Duke now comes with a new TFT instrument console and switchgear, shared from the KTM 390 Duke. It now gets turn-by-turn navigation, call/SMS alerts, headset pairing and a switchable supermoto ABS mode and display modes for the console. It also gets a new LED headlight with LED DRLs (daytime running lights) from the Gen 2 390 Duke as well. Now, we haven’t thoroughly tested the motorcycle yet, but it is highly likely that the 200 Duke’s headlamp has a similar throw and intensity as the 390. An additional feature the BS6 200 Duke gets over the BS4 version is dual-channel ABS.
Should you buy
The KTM 200 Duke is a good package overall. It has the power and performance to keep you interested and also offers a good riding experience. If you’re looking for a performance-oriented naked street fighter, then the Duke 200 is a great choice.

The ktm duke 200 is an amazing bike because its looks and features are realistic and amazing. But the meter console is not varied at all which is quite to be done in future . But according to its performance, it is mind-blowing and amazing feeling is then when someone is riding it among other bikers . The modification is quite costly but seems to be have a devil look in the bike . As the bike is one of the lovely thing for a boy , and duke is quite someone's dream . Read More
