The Hero Xtreme 160R gets all-new bodywork that draws inspiration from both the Xtreme Sports and the larger Xtreme 200R. It is the only motorcycle in its segment to get all-LED lighting. It also features a digital instrument console, engine side stand cutoff switch, and hazard lamps. The Xtreme 160R comes in three colours: white, red and blue.

Power comes from a new BS6-compliant 160cc air-cooled and fuel-injected motor. It delivers 15.2PS at 8500rpm and 14Nm at 6500rpm. Hero claims the Xtreme 160R will accelerate from 0-60kmph in 4.7 seconds, making it the quickest motorcycle in the 160cc segment. The Xtreme 160R gets what Hero calls an Auto Sail feature. It bumps up revs at idling speed to offer a smooth getaway. The other 160cc motorcycle to get this feature is the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V BS6.

Hero is yet to announce prices for the motorcycle but given its penchant of offering segment-beating pricing, we won’t be surprised if the Xtreme 160R turns out to be the most affordable 160cc motorcycle on sale. We will have to wait till March though since Hero will launch the motorcycle then. The Hero Xtreme 160R will compete with the Bajaj Pulsar NS160, Honda CB Hornet 160R, Suzuki Gixxer, and Yamaha FZ-FI V3.0
