Could this bike be launched in India in the future?
In India, 125cc motorcycles are seen only as commuters like the popular Honda Shine, but in other parts of the world, they can be entertaining and sprightly little machines (relatively speaking, of course). Case in point is the quirky little Kawasaki Z125 Pro pocket-bike, which has just been launched in its 2021 guise. For the upcoming model year, Kawasaki has given the bike some fresh new colours, including a lovely teal shade.
The translation says Pearl Night Shade Teal, but the paint job itself is far nicer than the name. Unsurprisingly, the majority of the bodywork is dominated by teal, but Kawasaki has also included some neat red and white accents to break the monotony. The blue paint also goes beautifully with the golden upside-down fork, resulting in a very handsome motorcycle. The second new colour option for 2021 is called Metallic Flat Spark Black which isn’t quite as unusual as the earlier scheme but still a smart looking paint job. You can’t go wrong with a black and red combination, and the red wheels complete the bike’s look.
Aside from the new colours, there have been no changes made to the little bike for 2021, meaning that it is still powered by the same 124cc air-cooled SOHC 2-valve motor unchanged from before. Output continues to be 9.7PS and 9.6Nm, which isn’t a whole lot more than the commuters we get here, but at just 102kg, the Z125 is quite a light little machine. However, at 352,000 yen (Rs 2.42 lakh), it is a HELL OF A LOT more expensive than the 125s we get here, meaning that there is almost zero chance of the bike ever coming here.
