The 2021 iteration of the TVS flagship is expected to come with a few tricks up its sleeve, making it an even better motorcycle than before
(Update: The 2021 TVS Apache RR 310 has been launched in India. Head here to read the story.)
TVS is all set to launch the 2021 iteration of its flagship faired motorcycle, the TVS Apache RR 310, tomorrow. It was initially scheduled for an April 7 launch, but the second wave of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic delayed it.
The TVS Apache RR 310 has been one of the most feature-packed motorcycles in its segment, particularly with the launch of the BS6-compliant version. And now, in the 2021 iteration, TVS might just take things up a notch by possibly equipping the motorcycle with a preload-adjustable inverted front fork, span-adjustable brake, and clutch levers, much like the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.

The 312.2cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled reverse inclined engine is already packed with four riding modes -- Urban, Rain, Sport, and Track -- to rein in the 34PS and 27Nm. Expect TVS to further fine-tune these modes in the 2021 model to enhance the riding experience. It already features a 6-speed transmission with a slipper clutch, and we’d be even happier if TVS equipped the motorcycle with a bi-directional quickshifter.
Apart from these changes, TVS might also swap the Michelin Road 5 rubber to TVS ProTorq Extreme tyres, which will not only help the Hosur-based bike maker save money on import duties but also encourage local manufacturing.
With all these updates, TVS might ask for a premium of around Rs 6,000- Rs 7,000 over the current model, which retails at Rs 2,54,990 (ex-showroom Delhi). It will compete with the Kawasaki Ninja 300 and KTM RC 390, which will eventually be replaced by the upcoming next-generation RC 390.
