Jawa claims the bike is now smoother with reduced noise, vibration and harshness levels
Jawa launched the 2024 Jawa Perak at Rs 2,13,187 (ex-showroom Pune) a couple of weeks ago and now the bikemaker has revealed more details on the technical aspects of the updates including changes made to the engine, gearbox among others.
The gearbox has been tweaked and now comes with a new gear tooth design which is meant to decrease the noise, vibration and harshness levels (NVH) of the motorcycle. Additionally, the bike now comes with updated gear ratios and throttle mapping which should make it more versatile riding in the city and on the highway. The transmission now features a slip and assist clutch as well.
The Jawa Perak is still powered by the same 334cc liquid-cooled single cylinder engine that produces 29.9PS and 30Nm, but now comes with a few changes. The bike now comes with a new piston skirt profile and a larger throttle body. The bikemaker claims all of these changes have been made to ensure better overall refinement.
Jawa has also made some changes to the engine’s internals with an addition of a new tech that optimises engine oil flow and consumption, this allows a great reduction of oil loss during regular running and as a result will also help in lowering the maintenance costs.
