- The new Aprilia Storm 125 is around Rs 6,000 less expensive than the SR 125.
- Other than the tyre setup and the new paint scheme, both scooters are exactly the same.
- It will compete against the Honda Grazia, TVS NTorq 125 and the Hero Maestro Edge 125.
Aprilia has finally launched the Storm 125 in India at Rs 65,000 (ex-showroom Pune). At this price, it is around Rs 6,000 more affordable than the SR 125. Booking for the new 125cc scooter has already commenced at dealerships for a token amount of Rs 5,000.
On the design front, the Storm 125 gets vibrant new paint schemes like matte yellow and matte red. Other than the new colour options, the sporty decals and a single halogen headlamp could help you differentiate it from the SR 125.
One of the major differences between both the scooters is the tyre setup. The Storm 125 features 12-inch dual-purpose tyres measuring 120/80-section at the front and 130/80-section at the rear. The SR 125, on the other hand, gets 14-inch wheels at both ends. It is powered by the same 124.5cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine as seen on the SR 125. This motor produces 9.52PS of power and 9.9Nm of torque. The suspension setup remains the same as the SR 125 as well: telescopic fork up front and a monoshock unit at the rear. It gets CBS as standard as opposed to ABS seen on the SR 125.
So, the question here is: how different does it feel? Well, we will be riding the new Storm 125 soon, so stay tuned for the detailed first ride report.
In terms of competition, the Storm 125 goes up against the TVS NTorq 125 (Rs 58,252), Honda Grazia (Rs 60,723) and the newly-launched Hero Maestro Edge 125 (Rs 58,500, all prices ex-showroom Delhi).
