Bajaj has silently increased the ex-showroom price of its most popular motorcycle
- Prices of all three variants of the Pulsar 150 have increased.
- Despite the price hike, the Pulsar 150 remains the most affordable ABS equipped bike in India.
- Apart from the Pulsar 150, prices of the Dominar 400 has also been revised.
Bajaj Auto has updated the prices of its motorcycles in India, including the Bajaj Pulsar 150. The entry-level Bajaj Pulsar 150 Neon is dearer by Rs 2,950, while the ex-showroom price of the Pulsar 150 and the Pulsar 150 twin disc has been increased by Rs 500. Bajaj officials haven’t given us any update on the reasoning for the price hike but we expect it to be due to rising input costs. Another reason for increasing the price of the Pulsar 150 Neon could be the fact that the company is planning to launch the Pulsar 125 in India soon. This will enable the brand to distinguish the two Pulsar bikes better with respect to pricing.
Despite its age, the Bajaj Pulsar 150 continues to impress with its sales performance. In fact, last month, the Bajaj Pulsar 150 was the highest selling bike in the Bajaj portfolio, trumping even the aggressively priced Bajaj Platina. One of the key reasons for the success of the Pulsar 150 is the fact that it still remains a feature-rich motorcycle and the Pulsar remains an aspirational brand in non-urban markets.

Powering the Pulsar 150 is still the same 149cc single-cylinder motor producing 14PS of power at 8000rpm and 13.4Nm of torque at 6000rpm. While most underpinnings is shared across the three variants, the top-end Pulsar 150 gets single-channel ABS and rear disc brake as standard fitment. The Bajaj Pulsar 150 competes against the TVS Apache RTR 160 and the Honda CB Unicorn 150.
