The new version gets superior suspension, 'spring soft' seat and rubber footpads, and claims to reduce jerks by 20 per cent.
Bajaj has updated its popular commuter Platina with some extra comfort features. The new version has been named the ‘Platina ComforTec.’ The new model retains the entire design and mechanics from its predecessor and the price also remains unchanged, starting at Rs 42,541 (ex-showroom, Delhi). However, it gets revised suspension, seat padding and foot pegs, and with these feature it claims a reduction in jerks by 20 per cent.
The front telescopic suspension of the new Bajaj Platina ComforTec are 28 per cent longer, providing better performance on the bad roads. The rear SNS suspension setup also gets 22 percent longer with better shock absorbing capacity. The new 'spring soft' seat on the Platina ComforTec is claimed to provide better cushioning, along with the softer rubber footpads.
As we mentioned above, rest of the new ComforTec version is the same Platina that you might have ridden sometime and it looks identical as well. Powering the bike is a 102cc engine which makes 7.9PS of power and delivers a peak torque of 8.3Nm. With a kerb weight of just 109 kg, it claims to deliver a fuel economy up to 104kmpl (ARAI tested) and to reach a top speed of 90kmph. The company also says that the new model comes with 65 per cent lesser maintenance, having a service interval of 5,000km and oil changing interval of 10,000km.
Running on 17" alloy wheels, the Platina ComforTec gets 110mm drum brake units at both ends, and is also available with electric start for an extra Rs 2,000.
