Bajaj dealerships are taking bookings for the bike with deliveries set to commence after February 2019

  • The Pulsar 220F ABS commands a premium of Rs 7,600 over the non-ABS version.
  • The bike can be booked for an amount of Rs 500.
  • It gets single-channel ABS with RLM (Rear wheel Lift Mitigation).

The Bajaj Pulsar 220F ABS has started rolling into dealerships. The news comes on the heels of similar dealership sightings of the Avenger 220 ABS and the Pulsar 180 ABS. And just like those two bikes, the ABS on the Pulsar 220F is of the single-channel variety with an RLM (Rear wheel Lift Mitigation) system. Bajaj has priced the Pulsar 220F ABS at Rs Rs 1.05 lakh, which is a premium of around Rs 7,600 over its non-ABS variant that is priced at Rs 97,670 (all prices ex-showroom Pune).

Bajaj Avenger 220 ABS Launched

The single-channel ABS on the Pulsar 220F is similar to the ones seen on the ABS variants of the Avenger Cruise 220, the Avenger Street 220, the Pulsar 180, RS 200 and the NS 200. In this setup, both wheels are equipped with speed sensors. However, there’s also a gyroscopic sensor on the rear wheel that detects if it is in contact with the ground or not. If the rear wheel lifts off the tarmac under hard braking, the ABS kicks in and eases pressure off the front brake. This action brings the rear wheel back on the ground.

Bajaj Pulsar 180 ABS Spotted At Dealership

Apart from the addition of ABS and RLM, the rest of the Pulsar 220F’s mechanicals are expected to remain the same. That means it will continue to be powered by a 220cc, single-cylinder, air- and oil-cooled engine that churns out 21PS of power and 18.5Nm of torque, mated to a 5-speed transmission. There are likely to be no visual changes either as Bajaj had recently refreshed the bike for 2019 with a belly pan and new graphics in November 2018.

Bajaj Pulsar 220F Gets A Refreshed Look For 2019

Once hailed as India’s fastest production bike, the Pulsar 220F continues to rake in good volumes for Bajaj. The launch of the ABS variant of the bike is another sign that the Pune-based bikemaker has no plans to discontinue the Pulsar 220F in the foreseeable future.
