The dual-channel ABS variant of the RS200 is just Rs 1,400 more expensive than the standard model

  • Apart from the addition of dual-channel ABS, the bike remains mechanically the same as the standard variant.
  • Expect Bajaj to launch BS6 version of the Pulsar RS 200 in the next few months.
  • The BS6-compliant variant is likely to get a price hike as well.

As per our dealer sources, Bajaj has silently launched the dual-channel ABS Pulsar RS200 in India at Rs 1,43,343. At this price, it is just Rs 1,400 more expensive than the single-channel ABS variant. The new variant is already available at select dealerships across the country but Bajaj is likely to officially launch it in the next few weeks.

While we have seen Bajaj updating its motorcycles with some minor tweaks here and there, the Pulsar RS200 was left untouched for a very long time. Sure, the addition of dual-channel ABS can be considered an ‘update’ but Bajaj should have also made small cosmetic updates like a new paint scheme or even a new set of decals to the bike as well. Now though, it seems like we won’t be getting a completely overhauled Pulsar RS200 until the new emission norms kick in.

Considering that the Pulsar RS 200 was out of the limelight for so long, you might be unaware of its specifications. Here’s a quick refresher: Powering the Pulsar RS200 is a 199.5cc engine which belts out 24.5PS of power and 18.6Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed gearbox. However, expect these figures to slightly change once the new BS6 norms come into effect. Suspension duties are taken care of by a telescopic fork at the front and monoshock at the rear.

The Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 is available in three paint schemes: red, black and blue. In terms of rivals, it’s slotted in between the affordable Hero Xtreme 200S (Rs 99,400) and the more expensive and aggressive KTM RC200 (Rs 1.90 lakh). However, at this price point, you can also have the Yamaha R15 V3.0.
