Bajaj's commuter motorcycle sales slump by a significant margin

In terms of sales, the commuter bikes in Bajaj's portfolio didn't perform well in December 2021. Its Pulsar range and electric scooter, on the other hand, have made up for it by achieving significant sales numbers. Take a look at the detailed sales report right here.

Starting with the Pulsar range, the month-on-month sales of the entire range has gone up by a substantial margin of 64.55 percent. The Pulsar range includes the. In related news, the brand has recently registered a trademark for the name 'Twinner'. The upcoming bike is expected to be the first twin-cylinder bike from Bajaj, and it's likely to feature the KTM's upcoming 490 engine.

Other than the Pulsar range, the company's only electric scooter, the Chetak, has sold well. The month-on-month sale of the e-scooter has gone up by 42.46 percent. The Chetak is due for an update, and we also recently got our hands on the type approval document of the upcoming e-scooter that revealed that the next iteration would be more powerful while  employing a smaller-size battery.

Talking about the brand's cruiser range, while the monthly sales of the Avenger Cruise 220 has gone up by 33.74 percent, the Avenger Street 160 has witnessed degrowth of 12.95 percent over November 2021.

The mile-muncher in the brand's portfolio, the Dominar 250 and Dominar 400, have also witnessed a slight hike in sales. The former has witnessed growth of 10.10 percent while the latter has only sold 48 units more compared to November 2021.

While these bikes have witnessed growth, the sales of the CT range and the Platina have declined by a significant margin of 53.95 percent and 24.22 percent respectively.
