BattRE, an electric two-wheeler startup based in Jaipur, Rajasthan has launched its first electric scooter in India. The new e-scooter is currently available in select cities like Nagpur, Hyderabad, Anantpur,  Kurnool and has been priced at Rs 63,555 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

It gets some really cool features like keyless start, rear reverse assist, anti-theft alarm system with tyre lock and LED lights. Other notable features include a cubby hole on the front apron and a USB charging socket placed in the scooter’s underseat storage. Its LCD instrument console displays the battery usage, speed, temperature, odometer and faults related to the scooter.

The BattRE Electric Scooter comes equipped with a 48V 30Ah lithium ion battery which returns a company claimed range of 90km on a single charge. The battery takes around 4 hours to be fully charged. Power, on the other hand, is delivered via a 250W BDLC motor that can help the scooter reach a top speed of 25kmph.

In terms of underpinnings, the scooter uses a telescopic fork and a single rear monoshock for suspension duties. Its braking setup comprises of disc brakes at either end. It gets 10-inch wheels wrapped in 90/100-sections tyres at both ends. It's pretty light as well, weighing in at just 65kg which should make it pretty nimble in city traffic. Unfortunately, given its specs, this e-scooter from BattRE doesn’t attract any subsidy at the moment.

That said, the brand has confirmed that it is currently working on an IOT (Internet of Things) connected electric scooter with mobile app support which will be launched pretty soon. It is a smart e-scooter that uses cloud-based GPRS to connect with a smartphone app and stores all vehicle-related data online.

Its rivals include Hero Electric's low-speed range of scooters like the Flash LI and the Optima LI, Ampere Vehicle’s Reo and V48
