The popularity of electric two-wheelers in India has grown exponentially, especially in the last 4-5 years. However, range anxiety and lack of charging infrastructure are still issues when it comes to electric mobility. But this might soon change as Bengaluru-based Meladath Auto Components has come up with a brilliant solution. The company is offering retrofittable kits, which can convert your petrol-powered scooter to a hybrid! 

The company claims the e-kit can be fitted to any scooter with 10-inch or 12-inch wheels without any major modifications. Moreover, this kit can be retrofitted in just 30 minutes. The highlight of this kit is that the scooter can be ridden in petrol and pure EV mode. As of now, Meladath Auto Components hasn’t revealed specific details, but it claims a range of 40km in pure EV mode. The manufacturer is also working on different technologies, which will help the e-kit to get charged up while the scooter is on the move.

Besides, the manufacturer is also planning to launch a made-in-India all-electric scooter, which we might see in a pre-production form in 2020.
