Looks very similar to the TVS Apache RR 310

(UPDATE: BMW has launched the G 310 RR in India. Full details in our launch story)

BMW G 310 RR

A day before its launch, a video of the BMW G 310 RR has surfaced online, revealing what it looks like.

The bike’s front looks very similar to the shark-inspired design of the TVS Apache RR 310. The most prominent visual update on the G 310 RR is the signature M livery with the blue, red and white colour scheme, which looks rather bold. There is also BMW badging on the side panel. The full fairing, bi-LED headlights and sharp tail complete the supersport look.

While the suspension doesn’t seem to be adjustable on this bike, an old teaser had confirmed that the upcoming sports bike will be getting a fully adjustable front suspension, thus suggesting that it may be available in two variants. We cannot discard the possibility wherein rather than a different variant, BMW might just offer a sports package (could be called the ‘M Sport’ package) for the bike, similar to what it does with its bigger models.

From the earlier teasers, we know that the bike will be sharing the same 312.7cc reverse-inclined single-cylinder motor and most of its hardware with the TVS Apache RR 310. You can check out the details here.

The G 310 RR marks the Bavarian auto manufacturer’s debut into the entry-level supersport space, and it will also be the most affordable faired bike from BMW Motorrad. It will take the fight to the 2022 KTM RC 390 and the Kawasaki Ninja 300 while managing to undercut both the bikes by a significant margin if our expected price turns out to be correct.
