The Japanese brand has sent out an invite for a launch on December 19
- The BS6 Yamaha Fascino was recently spotted testing.
- Apart from the cleaner engine, the scooter features revised bodywork as well.
- Expect Yamaha to unveil other BS6-compliant scooters and motorcycles too.
With BS4 to BS6 emission graduation on the anvil, Yamaha has sent out an invite for a launch press conference to be held on December 19, 2019. Recently, the BS6-compliant iteration of the Fascino was spotted testing. Connecting these dots, it is likely that the Japanese brand will launch the facelifted BS6 Fascino. This scooter has been one of Yamaha’s best-selling two-wheelers, which only further reinforces the importance of the need to update. Yamaha could also use this occasion to launch the BS6-compliant version of the YZF-R15 3.0 and the 150cc FZ range.
In recent weeks, documents of the BS6-compliant R15 V3.0, FZ FI V3 and FZ-S FI V3 have been leaked online. As per the leaked output figures, the two bikes make slightly less power than before owing to cleaner emissions.
Earlier, Yamaha had announced that its BS6-compliant models would be 10 to 15 per cent more expensive than the current models. Interestingly, Yamaha recently hiked the prices of some of its popular two-wheelers. Expect the BS6 Fascino to cost around Rs 6,000 to Rs 7,000 more than the current price, which is Rs 56,023. As for the R15 V3, it is likely to command a price tag of Rs 1.55 lakh, whereas the FZ V3 range is likely to start from Rs 1.06 lakh (all prices ex-showroom Delhi). Stay tuned for more updates regarding the other BS6 models under Yamaha's lineup.
