BSA aka Birmingham Small Arms Company has made a comeback in India with the launch of the BSA Gold Star, starting at Rs 2,99,990, and going up to Rs 3,34,990 (ex-showroom Delhi). The 650cc retro roadster is available in 6 colour options including Insignia Red, Highland Green, Midnight Black, Dawn Silver, Shadow Black and the range-topping Silver Sheen - Legacy Edition.
Each colour of the BSA Gold Star comes with a different price tag, and here’s our analysis of the available colour schemes:
BSA Gold Star Insignia Red & Highland Green - Rs 2,99,990 (ex-showroom)
The BSA Gold Star Insignia Red and Highland Green are the base variants and cost Rs 2,99,990 (ex-showroom). The Insignia Red features a dual-tone Red and Chrome fuel tank with a red stripe and a BSA logo on it. The front and rear fenders are also red. The Highland Green Colour, on the other hand, has a dark green and chrome tank with a red stripe and BSA logo. It has dark green fenders as well.
Both colours feature black front fork, rear-view mirrors and side panels. Whereas the spoke wheels, headlight cover, front fender brace, grab rail and exhaust have a chrome finish. The engine head is black while the engine casing features a matte silver colour.
BSA Gold Star Midnight Black & Dawn Silver - Rs 3,11,990 (ex-showroom)
The BSA Gold Star Midnight Black and Dawn Silver colour variants are priced at Rs 3,11,990 (ex-showroom). The Midnight Black colour gets a dual-tone black and chrome fuel tank with a red stripe and a BSA emblem. The front fork, rear-view mirrors, side panels, front fender and rear fender are black.
Similar to the Midnight Black, the Dawn Silver also has a dual-tone fuel tank, finished in matte silver and chrome colour along with a brand logo along with the red stripe. Both front and rear fenders have a matte silver shade. The front fork, rear-view mirrors and side panels are black.
Chrome elements on both the colour schemes include spoke wheels, headlight cover, front fender brace, grab rail and the exhaust. The cylinder head on both colours is blacked out and the engine casing is finished in matte silver shade.
BSA Gold Star Shadow Black - Rs 3,15,990 (ex-showroom)
The BSA Gold Star Shadow Black colour is for those who love their bike to be in stealth mode. The Shadow Black colour features an all-black paint scheme with the fuel tank, footpegs, spoke wheels and exhaust, all in black. The BSA logo remains to be finished in a red and gold colour.
BSA has paid attention to the detail and even the ABS rings are black on this variant. Only the headlight cover, front fender brace, grab rail and brake discs are in chrome finish, whereas the engine casing is matte silver.
BSA Gold Star Silver Sheen - Legacy Edition - Rs 3,34,990 (ex-showroom)
The Silver Sheen - Legacy Edition is the top-of-the-line colour variant of the Gold Star, priced at Rs 3,34,990 (ex-showroom). It comes with a chrome finish fuel tank with a red stripe and a BSA logo. The fenders (front & rear), front fender brace, headlight cover, bar-end weights, rear-view mirrors, grab rail and exhaust feature a chrome finish as well. The side panels and the engine head remain to be black as in other variants.
The BSA Gold Star comes with a 652cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 45.6PS and 55Nm, paired with a 5-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch. It competes against the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Kawasaki Z650RS.
